  • Sam Villalta

    Young Adult Ministry Leader

I am passionate about seeing the work of God playing out in the life that has surrendered completely to him and his purposes. I personally have benefited in young adult ministries that have centered around the gospel being preached, the saints being equipped and practiced a genuine, intentional community of discipleship. I’m blessed to lead and serve others as a part of the team at Lakeview Fellowship.

I was born and raised in Southern California, both Inland and near the Coast. I was born to two believing parents who arrived at this country from Costa Rica and El Salvador. In 2014 I left the corporate world, having worked as a Financial Service Professional for four years following my MBA and a bachelor’s degree in marketing. Prior to my professional career, I was in an aspiring rock band that made significant strides to stardom, some of which earned us air time on major Los Angeles Alternative Rock stations and opening for some notable headliner bands both in the christian and secular markets. However, through all those pursuits, I have always felt I was running away from a calling to be a pastor.

I found myself serving in various ministries through Harvest Christian Fellowship with Greg Laurie, Calvary Chapel and other para ministries. Some of those ministries involved short term disciple trips to countries like Mexico, Nicaragua, Haiti, Wales, London and locally at Skid Row in Los Angeles. It was during those times of serving, I found my calling to be equipped for the ministry.
I was accepted to Calvary Chapel School of Ministry Costa Mesa and finished their Pastoral Studies program of 2 years and even had the opportunity to visit the Holy Land and teach at some major sites. After that time, I was offered a position with Childcare Worldwide (a child sponsorship organization) where I would facilitate and manage a group of 10 Children and 2 adults from Uganda Africa for a whole year.  It was through that experience that I found myself in contact with many of the leadership members of Lakeview Fellowship, which I have committed to serve today.

Aside from being a servant of Christ, I have also gained the title “Husband” to my Beautiful Wife Kapri and “Father” to my expected daughter this November. Kapri and I met on the mission field and became good friends for 4 years prior to getting married. We were reconnected through some divine promptings and we are still serving together till this day. She has been a blessing from God in so many ways and we are excited in our new ministry role as future parents.
